When you have a child in your life who loves nothing more than to climb up in your lap with a book and present the timeless question, "Will you read this to me?"  you find yourself hoping that the chosen book is something of intrigue.

Especially if it's the fifteenth time you've been asked that timeless question in the same day.

When you have ten children in your life who've repeated that question so many times over the past twenty years that it's become permanently embedded in your brain, you REALLY hope that someone will be doing what it takes to keep providing you with great stories that are worth putting into your kid's brain. Disappointingly, we have personally struggled to find such literature.

Maybe we're slightly hard to please, since we gravitate toward stories that relate to our non-urbanized lifestyle. And we want whatever we're reading to support family values, faith, hard work, and great humor. Not too much to ask, right? Well . . .

After too many wearying times of reading dull, pointless, morally bankrupt wanderings, glued together into a cheap piece of junk that falls apart after its first ride in a ranch truck, we thought,

We'll be the first to admit, there's a whole lot more to publishing than we imagined. Hats off to those who work hard and do such a great job in this tough industry! After years of learning what it takes to produce a book, and being very humbled through a whole lot of failures, we've finally come to the point of having something to offer. 

Our first published work, HUMBLE COW TALE, introduces the Humble family. And what do ya know, the Humbles love kids and ranching as much as we do! The illustrations are hand-painted acrylics; photographs are courtesy of our photographically-talented daughter; and the storyline is the result of . . . all of us. Although categorized for children ages 4-9, our goal is to captivate an audience from ages 4 months to 104 years. Our stories are meant for family interaction and enjoyment.

All that said, the HUMBLE COW books are a thrill for us to create, and it is our intention to continue to add to the series. No guarantees on exactly when (there's a lot of life going on around here that we have to live), but . . .

Lord willing, more titles will be available soon.

We hope you love them. We hope they become favorites that get toted around in the truck and spilled on in the kitchen and buried in the covers when they're held by little hands who want a story read as they drift off to sleep at night. And we really hope that our books hold up to all the tough, loved-on environments they'll be exposed to. Thank you to our Canadian print company, who gave us their word they'd give us the most endurable books that they know how to print.
